Carved on both sides with the Chinese symbol for good luck, these cinnabar rounds can look formal or funky, depending on your wardrobe. Note: True cinnabar has not been used to make jewelry for years, since it is a toxic mercuric sulfide. Today, "cinnabar" beads are made of layers of lacquer, then hand- or machine-carved. All base metal ear wires are either hypo-allergenic surgical steel wire or gold- or silver-plate over surgical steel.
