The rich colors of this necklace recall Indian decor, but the cinnabar pendant is hand-carved in China. Strung on a simply regal necklace of red glass beads and purple-blue accents speckled with red and white dabs of color. Note: True cinnabar has not been used to make jewelry for years, since it is a toxic mercuric sulfide. Today, "cinnabar" beads are made of layers of lacquer, then hand- or machine-carved. Approximate length: 17"–19". Pendant measures 2" by 1½" at its widest points. Sterling silver findings. Five left! Price: |
